Introducing: iloveeasternvisayas.com

I have to write about Jayson Pascual and his pioneering endeavor at iloveeasternvisayas.com.

I learned about this young man and his site while I was surfing the net recently. As I am always interested on tourism promotion of our region I then contacted Jayson and expressed my interest to work with his team.

In our meeting, Jayson revealed to me his bigger plans for the website. His words and works also revealed his personality-- which is important for the credibility of the site.
Jayson is determined and passionate about iloveeasternvisayas.com. The site aims to promote all the best and promising attractions, destinations, events, trades, products, bargains, and individuals here in the region in a single website.

Carefully-selected photos, enhanced lay-out/design, and high--definition (HD) video documentation will then be used in the site.

Currently, Jayson and his team are contacting the local government units and private establishments to contribute tourism-related articles on the site. They will be putting up a separate account on the site where their contributors can immediately post updates. Also, they would like to keep in touch with other web owners based in the region who are into similar efforts to unify their purpose.

Jayson said that the site will be regularly updated once new development will take place on their posted subjects.

I then asked Jayson on how his web would profit him considering that it is costly to maintain such kind of site and that internet-advertisement is relatively slow in our region.

Jayson replied that the site is more of a “dream project” for him, and that it is like returning one’s service to the place where he belongs. Personal profit is the least on his mind.

He is just hopeful that people will support the site because its success will benefit everyone in the region.

“We’ll all take pride on this. This is now the time for new ideas, for the new generation, for the young people to do their part… The site will be helping our region in terms of promoting all its tourism advantages… It’s like one web, one region….like going to a mall, where every thing is made available to you, plus you will have a chance to “window-shop” on those other things which might bring you interest in the future…. The site will not only promote tourist spots but also the various crafts of our unheard yet skilled people in our region. All of us here will profit on this,” he explained.

I told him that the site is very ambitious.

He answered that everything in the site is more of a “public service”.

I tend to agree with him. The site is not only a form of “public service” but also one of the best forms of public service young people can offer to his own region, especially if we are talking about inviting tourists to check on our place.

I later found out that Jayson is connected with LeySam Foto Club, Inc., a group of professional  photographers in the region. He is also a member of Rotary Club of San Juanico, a trusted socio-civic organization in the country.

I have no doubt about Jayson’s ideals. I believe the site will be successful and beneficial for the region.

Indeed, the 21st century is no longer a time for lethargic visionaries and selfish individuals. We must do our part to promote our region.

The birth of www.iloveeasternvisayas.com is just a beginning for young people like Jayson and his team.
